Zaburzenie obsesyjno-kompulsywne

 Zwane dawniej nerwicą natręctw.

Osoba cierpiąca na to zaburzenie doświadcza natrętnych, uporczywych myśli (obsesji), któe budzą przykre uczucia. Czuje przymus wykonywania określonych czynności stereotypowych (kompulsji), które mają zapobiegać jakimś mało prawdopodobnym wydarzeniom (np. wielokrotnie myje ręce, aż do uszkodzenia skóry, w celu uniknięcia zarazków, które mogą zabić). Myśli obsesyjne i zachowania kompulsywne utrudniają codzienne funkcjonowanie.

Zaburzenie obsesyjno-kompulsywne leczy się za pomocą psychoterapii.
