Główny Inspektor Farmaceutyczny ogłosił na swojej stronie internetowej, nakaz wstrzymania sprzedaży preparatu Vigantol - z witaminą D3, ze względu na zanieczyszczenie preparatu. W chwili obecnej nie znana jest substancja, którą został zanieczyszczony preparat, co sprawia, że nie znane są potencjalne objawy, które mogą wystąpić u dzieci, które przyjęły zanieczyszczony preparat.

Zastosowania Vigantolu:

Preparat stosuje się w profilaktyce i leczeniu niedoboru witaminy D3. Preparat wykorzystywany jest w zapobieganiu i leczeniu krzywicy, tężyczki, osteomalacji i choroby kości na podłożu metabolicznym (m.in. niedoczynność przytarczyc i rzekomej niedoczynność przytarczyc).
 
Lek profilaktycznie stosuje się w stanach złego wchłaniania (np. w wyniku przewlekłych schorzeń jelit, rozległej resekcji żołądka i jelit czy marskości wątroby). Wspomagająco stosuje się go również w osteoporozie.
