Otyłość brzuszna

Taki typ otyłości, który polega na gromadzeniu się tłuszczu w okolicach talii/pasa. Według najnowszych kryteriów występuje, gdy obwód pasa wynosi powyżej 80 cm u kobiet i powyżej 94 cm u mężczyzn. Jest to groźniejszy typ otyłości, gdyż tłuszcz gromadzi się wokół narządów wewnętrznych, co prowadzi do różnych zaburzeń metabolicznych - np. cukrzycy, choroby niedokrwiennej serca, nadciśnienia tętniczego.
